Description

Meet Egon, a true lover of life. – When the music plays, he forgets time and place. He lets the notes carry him and flow through his every fibre. Busyness is not for Egon. He has seen the game – people so caught up in the pace that they forget what they really want. – Not Egon. He closes his eyes and follows the beat to the sound of his own heart's music.

Egon is part of the art series Portraits of Joy by Camilla Holm – a warm tribute to life's small joys and to people's wonderfully quirky character traits that brim with personality.

Portraits of Joy

Livsnyderne is an art series consisting of six original paintings created with acrylic, pastel and oil pastel on canvas.

I love observing people – especially when I catch the little, quirky moments that make us smile. It can be anything from a posture to a special facial expression – always rawly honest and full of personality. It is precisely these little glimpses of humanity that I try to capture in my art.

In my studio in Aarhus, I play with colors, brushes – and anything else that can be used – to create works that burst with joy of life, presence and character. I deliberately give space to the biases, because they are precisely what makes it all interesting and alive.

My hope is that my paintings can become little cracks of good humor in everyday life – art that makes you smile and gives your home an atmosphere you want to embrace again and again.
